nextDESKTOP released

Today we are excited to release the new version of the nextDESKTOP 18.04.  The nextDESKTOP is our high performance high availability desktop that we provide to customers.  This is the first public release of this operating system that we have provided for customers since 2009 to governments and educational facilities around the world.   The last release was based on Ubuntu 12.04 and was badly in need of an upgrade.  So we upgraded the release to the current LTS, Ubuntu 18.04.  We do continue to work with clients to enhance the OS and provide them with a quality desktop .

nextDESKTOP, has had the following updates.

• 18.04 LTS update
• Kernel 4.15.0-33
• Sofware App store
• Google Chrome 68
• ICE SSB
• Thunderbird Mail with Calendar, Google App, and Microsoft Exchange Support
• Oracle Java 10 (8 is included for backwards compatibility with Netbeans 8.2) 
• Microsoft .NET Core support
• Microsoft Powershell support

nextDESKTOP 18.04 is a commercial product with no open source equivalent available.  The Workspace Manager is not provided with source but we do provide the kernel and other Open Source software source code for users.  You can purchase nextDESKTOP from our webstore.
