Today the PC/OpenSystems LLC team is pleased to announce the release of RunicShell 4.6.2 for Linux.
RunicShell for Linux is a lightweight, high-performance, object-oriented command shell and scripting language written in modern standard C++20. It bridges the structured pipeline capabilities of PowerShell with Unix/POSIX ergonomics and native system telemetry—compiled into a single fast binary with zero runtime dependencies.
Some of the changes between this and the Windows release are
- Native Linux binary
- Native BASH and KSH script support to run unmodified sh or ksh scripts
- Over 260 cmdlets
- Can be compiled on BSD and macOS as well
- RPM package for easy install and inclusion in distribution repositories
- Tested on various RPM distributions
- Portable binary also for alternate distributions
